At Bubbsi, we know that coconut oil is the MVP of ingredients—especially when it comes to our bestselling, ultra-nourishing and moisturizing coconut oil lotion. Below, we break down why coconut oil is good for your skin, the benefits of coconut oil in lotion, and how Bubbsi’s Whipped Coconut Oil Body Cream is the ultimate coconut oil lotion for your bubs and you.
Is coconut oil good for your skin?
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: There are countless benefits of coconut oil for skin. Rich in antioxidants with anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial properties, coconut oil is an incredible source of both protective and healing properties for the skin barrier. Coconut oil is composed primarily of medium chain fatty acids, “healthy fats” that effectively repair, soften, and soothe the skin's barrier. Because of its unique composition, coconut oil absorbs deeply into pores, effortlessly trapping moisture while still remaining lightweight on our skin. On top of those skin benefits, a recent study by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) found that coconut oil has an approximate SPF value of 8. This means it can also act as an additional protective barrier for your skin from sun damage and UV rays. Using coconut oil for skin on its own can be greasy, messy, and difficult to apply—which is why we formulated an easy, peasy, non-greasy coconut oil lotion for you.
The benefits of coconut oil lotion
This may come as a surprise, but our skin needs oil. We naturally produce sebum, a type of oil, to protect our skin barrier and maintain hydration and softness. Much like sebum’s moisturizing properties, lotions with high active levels of oils are particularly effective because of their ultra-moisturizing qualities. Coconut oil is found to be effective and safe when applied as a moisturizer, making it an ideal ingredient for dry skin. According to this study, “Plant oils have long been used on the skin for cosmetic and medical purposes because they have been found to have many positive physiological benefits. Plant oil application may act as a protective barrier to the skin by an occlusive effect, allowing the skin to retain moisture.” Coconut oil has an occlusive effect, meaning it reduces the evaporation of water from the skin by forming a barrier. Because coconut oil lotions are thick and creamy, they work to seal in moisture and soothe and protect the skin barrier in the long run. Coconut oil is an especially effective ingredient in lotions given its many skin benefits—which is why we love using coconut oil for skin, and why we made the ultimate coconut oil lotion formula for you.
It’s no secret that we’re obsessed with coconut oil. While many lotions out there contain harsh ingredients that can dehydrate skin and deplete the sebum, we sought to create a natural, ultra-nourishing coconut oil lotion that is deeply moisturizing. Our coconut oil lotion is formulated with organic, cold pressed coconut oil—this means coconut oil is pressed without the addition of any heat so that it retains more antioxidants and nutrients than a heat-refined version. While many coconut oil lotion formulas contain some coconut oil and a lot of water, our formula contains A LOT of coconut oil (it’s #2 on our ingredient list), and less water than most lotions. About one-third of our Whipped Coconut Oil Body Cream is in “oily phase”, which means it’s formulated with natural butters and oils like coconut oil, shea butter, and sunflower seed oil. Vegetable glycerin is our #3 ingredient, acting as a natural humectant, which is a substance that pulls moisture from the air into the skin. These ultra-moisturizing ingredients at high levels make our coconut oil lotion the ideal formula for baby-soft skin, working especially well to seal in moisture during post-bath massages.
Bubbsi coconut oil lotion has a thick, creamy texture—a little goes a long way—and a light, all-natural scent of coconut and vanilla. With a 98% naturally derived formula that’s been allergy-, dermatologist-, and pediatrician-tested, our coconut oil lotion is sure to soothe your itch for an effective coconut oil lotion (pun intended). Plus, our formula is EU-compliant, which means we never formulate with the 1,400 ingredients banned in EU personal care. We also steer clear of parabens, phthalates, sulfates, mineral oils, and synthetic dyes.

Stop looking, this is the miracle cream!
“From the first time my husband used this lotion for our baby girl, he’s been OBSESSED. He has been fighting eczema for 49 years and this is the first of many products we’ve tried that really has helped to heal and repair his dry and cracked skin. It smells delicious and is not greasy in the least. Our baby girl’s skin is so soft and protected, we’ll never use anything else.” —Robin
I LOVE THIS
“I absolutely love the Bubbsi cream—HAD to get the refill! The fragrance is soft and perfect for my son, it isn't too strong. My son has eczema and this is the only lotion product we tried that has helped him—with only one night time application before bed.” —Emma
Whipped Cream-like Lotion? Yes please!
“This lotion goes on like whipped cream and though it's light and airy, it's very moisturizing. I love that it is hypoallergenic. I use it on my 9-month-old infant as well as my 2-year-old twins. My littlest uses the bottle as a teether, which adds a fun element to his massage time and diaper changes. PS - As a breastfeeding mom, I am conscious of my skincare products so I use this too. It's that good!” —Kanika
