How to keep your little ones
snuggly soft this winter

We're combatting dry skin this winter by sharing our top tips for keeping your little one's skin moisturized!

1) Drop the bubbles

Daily baths can strip your bub's skin of its natural moisture. Instead, try skipping baths every few days to let skin replenish its natural oils.  On bath days, switch to a gentle, creamy, sulfate-free shampoo / soap. Sulfates are strong chemical detergents that create those bubbles we all love, but also strip our skin of its protective oils.

Bubbsi's Creamy Coconut Oil Shampoo + Wash is an ultra-gentle sulfate-free wash that leaves skin and hair feeling soft, hydrated and never stripped.

2) Slather on the self care

For maximum moisture, add daily moisture massages into your little one's morning and evening routine!  Sub in a richer moisturizer (think cream versus the average lotion). Apply when skin is still damp from a bath to lock in hydration and add in that extra layer your little one needs.  Check out our recent blog posts on the full benefits of moisture massage and our tips for daily massage

3) Hydrate from within

Drinking lots of water does wonders for the skin, but we know how tough it is to get your little ones to hydrate all day. Consider loading up on snack-friendly fruits and veggies like cucumbers, watermelon, cantaloupe, and celery which are all made up of more than 80% of water to help keep skin hydrated and full of nutrients.

4) Let your baby’s skin breathe

Ever notice dry patches right around your little one's elbows or knees? Tight fitting clothes made with synthetics (like polyester or synthetic wool blends) can keep them warm but are more likely to cause rashes on the skin. Instead, bundle them up in layers of in looser-fitting clothing with soft, natural fabrics like cotton to allow for breathability.

5) Keep balm and carry on

Even in February, cold and flu season is still at its peak. With sniffles and sneezes all around, protect your baby from some major tissue nose by keeping a concentrated oil balm close by. Apply just a small dab under the nose to protect and restore the skin- a little goes a long way!

Bubbsi's Coconut Oil Balm is an 100% naturally derived concentrated blend of Coconut and Sunflower Oils.  Perfect for chapped skin, diaper area protection and cradle cap!

6) Stay loyal to oils - even in the bath

Oil baths are a great alternative to soap to give your little one the a cleanse without the dryness. Using soap frequently can dry out little one's skin, but oil can actually dissolve away skin's impurities while replacing the moisture it needs.

Bubbsi's Coconut Oil Balm, made with coconut + sunflower oils, can be used in the bath to help baby's skin feel clean, healthy, and hydrated!
